Corrections
[edit]As I'm updating the article, I'm noticing some corrections that are a bit beyond my RDT skills:
- Both branches share commuter rail rights-of-way, so the Lowell and Fitchburg lines should extend parallel to the full branches.
- Access to the maintenance facility is only from the branches - a train can go from Union Square to the yard, or from Medford/Tufts to the yard, or from the yard to either of those branches. The yard leads meet the branches north (on the diagram, up) of the split. There is no access to the yard from Lechmere, and no yard leads south of the branch split.
- The commuter rail lines split south of the Green Line maintenance facility.
I've attached a sketch at right. @AlgaeGraphix: You're one of the experts at RDTs around here; would you be willing/able to make these changes? Thanks, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 17:52, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
- I've taken a few runs at this and come up dry. Probably the better approach is a clean implementation. Mackensen (talk) 12:37, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Pi.1415926535: I've done a clean implementation here: User:Mackensen/temp. I haven't filled in the corners and such yet. Thoughts? Mackensen (talk) 20:51, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Mackensen: That looks awesome! The one tweak I'd like is to separate the Green Line and commuter rail maintenance facilities - while adjacent, they're separate facilities. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 00:19, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
